Repair or replace? How to decide

Age is only part of it. The fault, the parts and what a replacement really costs matter too.

A failed machine is not automatically a dead one. These are the questions we would ask about our own.

What is the actual fault?

A drain pump or door lock is a very different decision from a failed main board or a seized drum bearing. Find out what has failed before you decide.

How old is the machine?

Age matters more for budget machines than for premium ones built for a longer life. It is useful context, not the whole answer.

Are parts available?

Some older models have parts that are slow to source or no longer made. That alone can settle the question.

What would replacing really cost?

Include delivery, installation, disposal, and any cabinetry needed to fit a new integrated machine. A similar-size replacement can be harder to find than you expect.

Has it failed before?

One repair in ten years is normal. A third major fault in two years is a different picture.

Our view

Once we have found the fault, we will tell you honestly if we think the repair is worth it. It is your decision either way.
